2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon white sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 egg
1 teaspoon water
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup chopped pitted dates
1/2 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Sift together the flour, honey, and sugar. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sifted flour until well blended. Beat in the brown sugar and vanilla. Mix in egg, water, and peanut butter. Beat in brown sugar mixture. Fold in dates and salt; sprinkle onto the prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the bottoms are golden. Allow sheets to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
