Awaken with Ginger Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 green bell pepper

1 peeled and diced strawberries

2 white onion, chopped

2 sprigs fresh ginger root extract

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon marinara sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

3 drops coffee enqueller

1 package orange flavored frozen pudding mix

1 pint fresh ginger ale

2 Cup frozen fresh strawberries, thawed

1 teaspoon apricot preserves

2 teaspoons vodka

Directions

Heat oil in pan 5 minutes in 25 degree Frix - 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Stir in green pepper and pineapple. Stir in lemon peel, remove from pan and cool to lukewarm.

In a medium bowl, combine fruit preserves, GINGER ALE (see Package Information for package strain), custard mix, vodka and fruit juice. Pour into pan and heat gently, stirring occasionally, until consistency is similar to cream cheese frosting. Beat, pour frosting to desired thickness (low range). Chill 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and pour frosting over pie. Chill until serving.

I followed this recipe exactly (or so I thought)! I had all the ingredients and it was ready in 25 minutes. So I did a quick search and was told that this is not a biscuit but a biscuit with a baked topping. I was worried that it might not be as crisp as I like but it was perfect. Hubby loved this and I will make it again!

This was really good--I retained most of the taste, but also did a few tweaks. I would recommend letting it cool completely before covering it with plastic wrap and refrigerating it; once hardened, the wrapper acts as a buffer and keeps the food contained. If it starts to brown, gently lift it off the bone and bake it in the centre of the box until the bottom third is set.

The combination of ingredients (I don't use ginger ale, I use a litte beer) led to a very thin, at times bitter sauce. At my house we have a ginger ale that is scheduled to have a special about 5% alcohol by volume (but turns out that the sauce is nearly identical). I removed the ginger ale (and the white cayenne pepper) and regular garlic cloves and added 1-2 tablespoons of minced ginger. It produced a pretty tasty sauce (although I did tweak it a little by adding 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the carrots and garlic - a subtle flavor variation). I followed a low-fat, high-calorie diet and added large amounts of fresh fruit and fish. It was definitely a hit, and I'm trying to convince at least some of my fellow diners to try it as well.
