1 (6 ounce) can sliced dates
1 cup red wine
1 cup cold water
1 1/3 cups organic cane sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
2 1/2 pounds fresh gingerroot, finely chopped
1/2 cup black peppercorn corn
1 (4 ounce) can lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 pint citrus-flavored lemonade
1/2 pint red wine
Place dates in a glass jar and shake to coat. Pour in water, leaving 1/3 cup in the top of the jar. Stir in soda water. Cover and shake to coat. Chill to marinate. Reserve 8 graham cups for future marinating.
In a small bowl, mix liqueur and lemonade. Stir ginger and peppercorn corn into the lemon-lime mixture before adding to the dates. Adjust fruit flavors to taste. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
