1/2 cup butter, softened
2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
4 3/4 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup crushed cornflakes cereal
1 teaspoon baking soda
6 1/2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup margarine
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, oats, baking soda, vanilla, lemon zest and lemon juice until smooth. Beat in the brown sugar mixture, mixing just until. Stir in the cornflakes and margarine. Gradually beat in the flour and salt until well blended. Drop batter into prepared cookie sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until set on both sides. Cool on cookie sheets for 2 minutes, then remove to wire racks. Cool completely on wire racks. To make the frosting: Beat the margarine, 3/4 cup sugar, vanilla extract and lemon zest in the microwave until smooth. Beat the margarine mixture into the creamed mixture until well mixed. Spread over cooled cookies.
I added flour, baking powder and soda to make a dough. I put it in a cake pan and decorated with groats ornaments. After baking it for about 20 min I lifted the cake pan out of the oven and there it was...crumbly, sugary and wet. It took me an hour to get it to work again. I started making recipe notes now.
I never would've thought of this. This simply does not have a place in my house. We love peanuts but they are not part of my family. I left out the seeds because I'm not crazy about them. These were really bland. I had to make them again I think I'll add some garlic and/or yellow pepper next time. Sorry I won't be making these.
