Mandarin Orange Chicken with Scallions Spices Recipe

Ingredients

1 (3 pound) whole chicken, rinsed, peeled and cubed

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

4 teaspoons ketchup

1 onion, sliced into 1-inch pieces

1 large carrot, sliced into half-inch rounds

2 teaspoons crushed ginger

6 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces

4 cloves garlic, minced

4 (8 ounce) packages instant gourmet dressing mix

1/4 teaspoon paprika

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

Directions

Preheat grill for high heat. Remove chicken from the plastic bag while still in the plastic bag, and brush against all sides of aluminum foil.

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute chicken for about 2 minutes on both sides, pan frying. Remove from pan, and drizzle evenly with ketchup, onions, carrot, and ginger. Add fish, celery, mushrooms, mushrooms, and garlic to pan sauces, and stir gently. (Note: until chicken is cooked through, the mixture will contain some of the sauce just from the pan; do not let go!)

Pour gourmet 1st package of American seasoning mix onto chicken pieces and place on heat. Heat gently, stirring constantly to keep chicken warm. Wait until liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat, and let juices cool, stirring.

Stir in dressing mix, paprika, basil, and garlic—this is called glaze over contentment—with a quick whisk. Spread glaze over chicken while it cooks. Lay towels on chicken to keep it from sticking. Grill 10 minutes on both sides, turning once. Broil to desired doneness.
