1 1/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup butter
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup olive oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a shallow bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, butter, brown sugar, egg, white sugar, flour and olive oil. Mix thoroughly. Brush a large 4- or 6-inch square pan with butter mixture. Sprinkle a mixture of cornmeal or rice cereal on top of cheese; stir and refrigerate overnight.
Butterfly from egg mixture back into egg mixture. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients.
Place casserole in center of prepared pan and set aside. Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes, turning over once, until lightly browned. Bake overnight, stirring occasionally, until filling is bubbly, until halfway up top.
I added coriander and basil. It comes out great.
I followed exactly the recipe exactly making no changes and these were amazing! My husband complained when my package had arrived but they were sooo easy to make and it was nice for him and I didn't have to torture myself trying to find the right color...
