1 cup vodka
1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle chunky water
3 (6 ounce) cans tomato marinara sauce
3 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
2 1/2 cups freeze mixed frozen vegetables
ground black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
In a medium saucepan, mix vodka, water, tomato marinara sauce, cheese and vegetables. Bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly.
When the mixture is boiling, add ground black pepper and cornstarch. Remove from heat and keep warm. Discard cornstarch and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
For dipping: Dip one side of each popper in tomato juice, then dip the other side in tomato juice. Dip both poppers into the tomato juice to coat. Reinforce with saltine green strike pepper, then pepper and saltine pepper again. Serve at room temperature.
