2 teaspoons butter
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 (8 ounce) bag cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tablespoon dried parsley
Place butter, flour, and milk in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir gently, until mixture starts to get a little browned. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese. Beat in brown sugar and garlic powder. Mix together, then stir in cream cheese and mushrooms. Beat in parsley. Pour into rolling dish from the saucepan.
Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into slices.
