Rudolph's Meringue Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup butter

1/2 cup white sugar

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup milk

1 (8 ounce) can evaporated milk

1/2 cup orange juice

1 (8 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed

2 tablespoons orange juice

1 (6 ounce) can sliced almonds

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Mix butter, sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, cream of tartar, salt, milk, evaporated milk and orange juice into a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Beat in the whipped topping and orange juice. Pour mixture into 9x13 inch baking dish and sprinkle with almonds.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center of pan comes out clean. Cool completely and chill in refrigerator.
