1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 3/4 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 (3 ounce) can chocolate syrup
1 (12 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
1 (2.5 ounce) package instant cream cheese frosting
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup chocolate syrup
Prepare cake according to package directions; refrigerate until set.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, stir together cake mix, eggs, boiling water, vanilla extract, milk, 1/2 cup butter, chocolate syrup, pudding mix and instant pudding. Transfer the batter to the prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centers of the cakes comes out clean. Allow to cool completely. Cut into 1/2 inch squares, and serve.
For the frosting: Beat together the chocolate syrup and 1/2 cup chocolate syrup until smooth. Mix in the whipped cream. Spread over the cooled cakes.
