Baked American Apples Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup apple juice

3 tablespoons butter

1 teaspoon white sugar

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

3 tablespoons butter

1 cup rolled heavy cream

1 egg

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Place honey, apple juice, lemon juice and pecans in a mixing bowl. Beat to make a syrup. Stir together and spread on cold prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, then cool overnight. Steam apples before slicing and remove the peel. Peel and slice while still pure.

Stir butter into the honey mixture and place evenly over a portion of the apples; cool slightly. Dip each apple half into the butter mixture and then into the remaining apples. Grate the peel and place the shells on cookie sheets.

Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for approximately 30 minutes. Cool the apples on waxed paper, spray-coat the tops with cooking spray, etc. Serve with preserves.
