Honey Mustard Crisp Recipe

Ingredients

2 quarts mayonnaise

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon grated lemon zest

1/2 cup honey

1/2 cup cold milk

1/3 cup hot water

1/4 teaspoon white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

Bring a medium saucepan of water to a boil. Stir in the mayonnaise and Worcestershire sauce; boil for 2 minutes.

Stir lemon zest into the prepared jar. Pour over the mayonnaise mixture. Fill jars with hot water and vinegar. Cover and let sit overnight.

When the jars are cool, open and discard lids.

I am so excited! I remember my mother (also of Norwegian heritage) serving this bread to us as children, and we always thought it was spectacular. I must say, though, that this recipe is not for everyone. I increased the sugar to 1/2 cup, used plain old dried bread, and added a teaspoon each of dried minced onion and coriander. I found that I needed to add flour to this mixture occasionally to get it to stick well. But, ultimately, I decided to leave it as is and see what happens. I will be giving this 5 stars, and will definately make it again.
