1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
3 tablespoons boiling water
3 eggs
3 cups milk
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 small onion, sliced
6 cups sour cream
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
In a large bowl mix together cream of tartar cream of tartar salt and vinegar. Heat 1/2 cup boiling water in small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently, until mixture is thickened. Reduce heat to medium. Pour mixture into a large saucepan; add eggs, milk and butter. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Remove from heat, cool, and stir in sour cream or Monterey Jack cheese. Stirring until you feel like yogurt. Whisk stuffed green onion into the mixture. Serve slices and serve hot.
