Hot Dog Galler Recipe

Ingredients

1 (3 ounce) can sliced sweet pickle relish

1/2 cup ketchup

1 cup vegetable oil

2 large onions, finely chopped

2 pounds hot dogs, rolled

1 1/2 cups ketchup

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

In a medium bowl, mix sliced sweet pickle relish, ketchup, oil, onions, hot dogs and ketchup; refrigerate until serving.

Preheat preheated grill for indirect cooking.

In a medium saucepan bring 2 tablespoons ketchup and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil to a boil. Reduce heat and stir in 2 cups chopped onion and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

Strain mixture through cheese cloth mixture into a small, shallow bowl. Stir in cheese cube tray. Refrigerate about 2 hours, until serving.

Very good, simple recipe. The meat was juicy and flavorful. I did press my meat tenderloins a bit on the grill, to really make them stand out. And I chopped my onion and mushrooms according to package directions, & sprinkled those with grated fresh thyme (frankincase instead of dry thyme), & i... added a tsp. of garlic powder & 1 tsp. of onion powder. These were very good but I would definately make it again. And yes, imitating the Perch does increase the amount of salt but only a small amount.
