2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 1/2 tablespoons Vodka
1 (2 liter) bottle vodka
1 (750 milliliter) bottle orange juice
1 cup orange juice
6 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
2 oranges, sliced
In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Add sugar, lemon juice, vodka, orange juice and orange juice. Stir vigorously until all sugar is dissolved.
Pour mixture into a slow cooker or freezer container, and set aside.
Cook the strawberries and oranges over low heat for at least 5 minutes in a small bowl. Place sliced oranges on the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the strawberries on the serving platter. Cover and cook until fruit is tender. Garnish with strawberries, oranges and orange slices.
I was born in the US, but both parents are Chileans-- both excellent cooks! This recipe is definitely going into our repertoire!
I made this for dinner tonight and came up dry. Might be too cold. Will make this again.
