Chocolate Chip Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup water

3 cups white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup packed light brown sugar

2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

1 (3 ounce) package fresh Oreos

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease an 8x8 inch pan.

In a large bowl, water, 3 cups white sugar, and vanilla extract together to make 1 cup of honey syrup. Beat in egg and baking soda until well blended, then stir in brown sugar. Beat in chocolate chips and pecans. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.

To make the frosting: In a saucepan, combine brown sugar, semisweet chocolate, pecans, and Oreos. Mix thoroughly in 1/4 cup honey syrup. Frost cake. Chill cake in refrigerator.
