12 to 14 pounds lean ground beef
3 tablespoons butter
6 slices bacon
1 cup chopped onion
2 large tomatoes, diced
1 black onion, chopped
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 small carrot, shredded
1 pint milk
1 cup shredded Italian cheese slice
1 pound slices rib eye from ham
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
In a medium skillet, fry burgers in olive oil until evenly brown. Drain grease, and mix in butter, bacon, onion, tomato, onion juice, basil, salt and oregano. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly, until the onions have started to turn black. Remove from heat, and stir in marjoram, rosemary, ketchup, water and cornstarch. Mix well.
In a large bowl, combine the bread crumbs, cheese slices, pork and vegetarian bones. Spoon mixture into the prepared dish. Stir over all, and spread to cover.
Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 5 hours, or until heated through and bubbly. Serve warm. (Note: If using barbecue, reduce cooking time to 500 degrees F (200 degrees C). Bear in mind that the gas and water on this particular grill will not be brown. Also, be very careful when opening pan cans on hot grills!)
