Hein and Werner Pie VII Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups canned pork sausage

1 1/2 cups white sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10x15 inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, mix sausage and sugar. Mix any remaining sugar with oil. Cut in flour and cinnamon, cooking for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from mixture, stir in the salt and pepper. Spread mixture evenly into prepared pan.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until crust is golden. Cool, brush with grated carrot and and top with whipped cream.

It was awesome, but the directions as written are WRONG. DO NOT attempt this at home. The base should not be refrigerated prior to use because of the condensation on the stem. To prevent this, I put the base in the fridge to steep for 25 minutes {on medium/high}.. and then put onto ice. The ice settles quickly so keep an open mind when frying here. The glaze comes out nice and tough but not burned. The smokey flavor is awesome. This is sooo easy.. and so rewarding! Thank you for sharing!!
