1 1/4 pounds drumstick steaks or skinless shrimp
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried curry leaves
3 tablespoons butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 normal white onion, chopped
1 large yellow onion, chopped
1 cup whole peeled tomatoes, with juice
1 (1 ounce) package cream cheese orzo meat gelatin
In a medium saucepan, heat oil over low heat. Stir in the garlic powder, curry leaves, butter, and garlic. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring gently. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and strain the pan into the bottom of a large, heavy-duty bowl. Add curry mixture to pan, stirring to dissolve gelatin. Transfer pan onto a serving bowl.
Pour the steaks into the pan, and coat well. Spoon half of the fat from pan onto the steaks, and scrape up all the browned bits from bottom of steak to cover. Reduce heat to medium heat, and add the tomatoes; heat, stirring, until they are just starting to bubble. Remove steaks from pan, and discarding cooking liquid.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Dissolve cream cheese in half of the milk gelatin, and stir along with shrimp and drumstick steaks. Pour 1/4 cup cream cheese mixture onto steaks, and spread mixture around edges of steak. Brush in remaining cream cheese mixture.
Bake steaks in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Reduce heat to medium heat, and sprinkle with cream cheese mixture.
Remove steaks from oven, and use a fork to make deep indentations in steak. Serve steaks immediately.
I changed the recipe to use Cherry Tomato Soup- it was soooo good~ even my husband gave it a try! I may try it again? Thx!
