1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar, flour, baking soda, salt, oil and buttermilk. Mix well. Fold in 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir egg mixture into creamed mixture. Mix in pecans and sprinkle with remaining 1 teaspoon pecans. Cut into 1-inch slices.
Bake for 25-30 minutes in the preheated oven, until filling is bubbly. Allow to cool completely.
