1 cup water
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup canned whole cranberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup water
In a medium saucepan, combine water, 1/2 cup sugar, vinegar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Stir in water until mixture is smooth. Stir in cranberries and 1/2 cup of sugar, and cook until mixture thickens. Stir in butter and 1/2 cup of white sugar. Heat through, then serve over warm cranberries.
