Tomato Cheese Burger Recipe

Ingredients

3 ounces cooked, processed Italian sausage

1 (5 ounce) can tomato sauce

1 (.75 ounce) package dry onion soup mix

1 (2 pound) hamburger, cut into 1 inch chunks

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 good quality Italian sausage, sliced

1 (16 ounce) container sour cream

2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions

Place cooked sausage in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.

In a small bowl, mix tomato sauce, soup mix and hamburger with hands. Spread 1/2 tablespoon mixture into each hamburger piece.

Pour tomato mixture into the skillet. Cook over medium heat until heated through.

Stir in cheese and pierce with sausage knife until cheese has melted. Serve on top of hamburger pieces. Cover and refrigerate two hours, or until stirring.
