1/2 pounds Atlantic shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon butter
4 large onions, sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon dried rosemary
1 teaspoon dried sage
5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add peeled shrimp and cut until large. Set aside.
Stir butter and oil into shrimp; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is light brown. Stir with lemon juice and sugar, then salt, rosemary, sage, flour, and paprika. Return shrimp to pan and pour lemon juice mixture over their entire surface. Cover, and simmer gently for about 20 minutes or until shrimp are golden brown. Serve immediately.
