Steamed Asian Fish Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound fresh or frozen fish, defrosted and flaked

1/4 cup sherry vinegar

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

1 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon fish flavor extract

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms

1 dash brown sugar

1/2 tablespoon ginger powder

1 teaspoon mustard powder

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

Directions

Place fish in a steamer or blender with plastic wrap using a metal skewer or or knife, or just drop fish in by the millimeter onto a flat surface. Place plastic wrap over the fish and steam.

While fish is steaming, in a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix sherry vinegar, water and vinegar vinegar mixture with a wooden spoon. Over medium heat, stir together sesame seeds, onion, garlic, fish flavor extract, soy sauce, mushrooms, brown sugar, ginger powder and mustard powder.

While fish is steaming, place a small piece of marinara sauce on the bottom of a medium saucepan and layer salmon, onions, garlic, fish and rice. Present salmon and onion with head, tail and scales. Cover saucepan with plastic wrap. Bring sauce to a boil and reduce heat to low. Cover but let simmer, stirring occasionally, for approximately 5 minutes, or until fish is opaque. Remove plastic wrap and sprinkle marinara sauce over fish.

When fish is done steaming, remove plastic wrap and pour marinara sauce over fish. Drizzle with marinara sauce and serve immediately.
