1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup water
2 cups uncooked long-grain white rice
1/2 cup uncooked brown rice
In a medium-size mixing bowl, combine shortening, sugar and egg; beat until light and fluffy. Stir in rice, with a little water, until rice is thoroughly coated.
Heat a nonstick skillet to heat. Pour about 2 cups hot water or broth over mixture, then add rice and cook until heated through, about 5 minutes.
