1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
1 (12 ounce) package all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup raisins
Prepare the cake mix as directed on the box. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, cocoa, shortening, brown sugar and egg. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the shortening and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg mixture alternately with the vanilla. Stir in the flour mixture. Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the prepared pan.
Bake for 13 to 16 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool for 2 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
