Cheese and Bacon Filling Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups dry bread cubes

1 onion, chopped

2 tablespoons bacon grease

2 tablespoons water

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons oil

1 (14 ounce) can French-style green beans, drained and chopped

1/2 cup cooked bacon

1/2 cup sausage crumbles

1/2 cup bacon bits

1/2 bunch celery, chopped

1/2 cup chopped raw bacon

1/3 cup bacon bits

1/2 onion, diced

1/4 cup tomato sauce

1/4 cup white wine

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium bowl combine the bread cubes, onion, bacon grease, water, and salt. Stir to dissolve. Stir in the bacon, eggs, milk, and oil. Stir in the chopped green beans, bacon, sausage, and onion. Pour into the same bowl, and mix well. Pour into prepared cookie sheet.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

To make the sauce combine the wine and tomato sauce in a bowl. Stir together well, and pour over fritters.

Spread the sauce over the fritters, and sprinkle with the remaining bacon bits. Drizzle the remaining tomato sauce over the filling, and toss to coat.
