3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons salt
2 pounds ground pork
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 tablespoon ground cloves
1 1/2 cups shredded Pita bread cubes
1/3 cup spring water
1 egg
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup water
1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons tomato paste
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in meat until cubes are large enough to form into patties. Stir in onion and cloves until mixture is all moistened.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Let meat cool in a large bowl. Mixture will be sticky. In a small bowl, mix Pita bread cubes, water and bread crumbs.
Spread 1 cup mixture over cold bottom layer of potato layer (cover as much of the bottom as possible). Spread remaining mix over top, spreading to velvety. Brush bottom layer with tomato paste. Spread top layer with egg.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
