Sour Cream Praline Recipe

Ingredients

1 (1 pound) package cream cheese, softened

1 (.25 ounce) package granulated artificial sweetener

1 teaspoon lime juice

1 cup water

1 pinch salt

1 cup white sugar

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 cups pared pimento-starch mixture

Directions

In a large bowl, cream together the cream cheese, granulated sweetener and lime juice. Stir in water and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens to the consistency of cream.

Stir in the remaining 2 cups sugar, egg yolk and cinnamon, and cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens to the consistency of thick pancake. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally, and adding 1 1/2 cups more cold milk if necessary. Stir in 1 cup pudding, cover and refrigerate overnight before serving.
