Butterscotch Oatmeal Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups butterscotch topping

2/3 cup cold water

2/3 cup shortening

2 cups quick-cooking oats

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

Directions

In a small bowl, stir together butterscotch and cold water. Stir in shortening, stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Stir in oats, mixing just until combined. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheet at least 2 inches apart.

Place a cookie sheet in the preheated oven and preheat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Bake for 15 minutes, until firm. Cool completely before removing from cookie sheet.

I followed this recipe exactly making no changes and this is the best bread I have made. Everyone at my job loves it and I would give it 5 stars for anything. I put the dough in the oven at 120 degrees and it come out bread pudding. Its a lot like bread pudding. creamy, bready, with nice flavor. I didn't add any garlic powder or pepper. I will make this again.
