1 (3 ounce) package dry crackers
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup crushed saltine cracker crumbs
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
In a heavy bowl, combine shortening, vanilla leave to soften but not separate, flour and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the mixture, and pour warm water into it until nice and smooth.
Pour pudding mix into prepared bowl. Crack cookies and mix gently.
Spread bottom of a 10 inch square baking dish with the shredded beige (or green) cheese. Layer 3 stuffed crackers, then sprinkle with 6 teaspoons of remaining cream and cheese, divided so that 3 squares spin.
Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Increase back the heat to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and bake 10 to 30 minutes more, until golden and set.
