1 cup white sugar
1 cup milk
2 cups bread cubes
1 cup pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 inch pie pan.
In a medium bowl, combine sugar, eggs and milk. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Place a layer of pecans on top of the pecan layer and press down to moisten. Pour filling into the pastry shell.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and bake an additional 65 to 70 minutes, until a knife inserted into the pie comes out clean. Cool before serving.
