1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped apple
1 banana, sliced
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 10x15 inch dish.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and white sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the brown sugar, then stir in the vanilla. Stir in the milk and apples. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to wire rack to cool completely.
To make the Meringue: In a medium bowl, beat together the milk and evaporated milk. Whisk in the vanilla and sugar until light and fluffy. To the cooled cake: In a medium bowl, stir together the pudding mix and reserved milk mixture, then fold in the apples and banana. Spread meringue over cooled cake.
