1 (4 ounce) can Italian-style pasta
1 standard onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
1 cup chicken broth
3 tablespoons minced shallots
1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon salt
ground black pepper to taste
1 teaspoon dry pasta sauce mix (see note)
1 teaspoon white sugar for garnish
In a mixing bowl, toss pasta. Season with onion, basil, chicken broth, shallots, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, pasta and sugar. Coat thoroughly. Cover, and refrigerate 12 to 24 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Preheat grill for high heat, and lightly oil grate.
Lightly oil grill grate. Brush with pasta sauce mixture, then mustard, then salt, pepper and white sugar. Mix together and cook just until well mixed.
