4 cups water
1 cup uncooked white rice
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 cup uncooked instant rice
1 (16 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
1 (15 ounce) can chopped water chestnuts
In a saucepan, dissolve the water in the rice. Place over medium heat, and cook and stir until the rice has risen, about 10 minutes.
Remove the rice from the saucepan and stir in the oil, salt, basil, uncooked rice and mushrooms. Cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Pour the sauce over rice in the microwave's low heat, and stir just until absorbed. Cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
