2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (.75 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 (.75 ounce) package dry Italian-style dried bread mixes
2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup water
1 (5 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Heat olive oil in a large stockpot over medium heat. Cover, and cook 8 to 10 minutes. Pull apart soup mix and Italian-style dried breads, and about 5 tablespoons of dried bread mixture into a small bowl.
Slowly pour broth over beef in stockpot, stirring occasionally. Top with mushrooms, basil, dried onion, and bread mixture.
Cover, and cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
