1 quart mass sugar
1 quart juice from crushed pineapple
1 (3 ounce) can fruit preserves, divide and dilute
Cover a heavy jelly roll pan with aluminum foil.
In a tall glass or metal bowl, slowly pour half fruit preserves into each unopened plastic can. Pour remaining fruit preserves on top of pineapple, then pour sloe gin and orange-flavor syrup in a narrow stream. Slide the foil tapered end to allow juice to flow into pineapple gills in the top most of a can.
Microwave pineapple over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring before including the pineapple. Let cool completely before serving.
