Sugar Sponge Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

4 eggs, beaten

2 cups white sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1 cup butter, softened

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup milk

1 percent fruit preserves

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8x8 inch pan pans.

Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and almond extract. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the sugar, eggs, condensed milk and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth. Beat in the butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup milk. Mix in the 1 cup butter, 1 cup milk and 1 percent fruit preserves.

Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool cakes with wire racks in foil.
