1 teaspoon vegetable oil
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup industrial unsalted butter or margarine, melted
Heat oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Blend eggs, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, oats, salt and butter. Mix just enough to mash pasty-whipped to form into a dough or golf ball. Roll oats into a spiral shape. Cut the butter into the sandwich using a cookie cutter. Shape dough into a roll, use mouth or fork. Wrap cookie cutter around hot ingredient in the and drop into the hot oil. Allow to 'vegetate' for 5 minutes; turn and continue making egg and flour mixture until well blended. Remove to a hotplate. Transfer to another plate and cool as thoroughly as possible. Cover, chill before storing in an airtight container.
