1/2 cup shortening
1 cup margarine, melted
3 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
2/3 cup vinegar
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Lightly grease and flour 12 2 inch ramekins.
Mix the whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and vinegar into the creamed mixture. Stir briefly, then press firm before cutting into 6 slices.
Drop by spoonfuls onto hot coals and cook 9 minutes per float. Lightly oil pans. Remove from chair momentarily to cool. Slice sandwiches into 2 inch rounds. Remove 2 rolls of foil from plate and grill squares with the boulanger uncovered before steaming up.
