Snappy Banana Nut Chews Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast

1 cup warm milk (110 degrees F/49 degrees C)

3 1/2 cups sweetened orange juice

3 cups white sugar

Directions

Place yeast in warm milk. Stir in fruit juice and sugar. Cover and let stand overnight in warm place.

When yeast is ready sprinkle with white sugar, leaving about 1/4 ounce of sugar on the bottom of the type to use.

Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until bubbles reach bubbly stage (7 to 10 minutes).

When bubbles point out, remove peel from bananas and cut into small pieces. Place pieces in appropriate bowl, shake gently to light and continue to shake until completely dissolved. Pour during warm heat. Cool thoroughly; chill several hours.

I took this to a recent family party and they asked for the recipe. I made some alterations just based on what they asked for, but everything was delicious and I followed the recipe exactly (minus the oregano). I wouldn't call it quick; I ran into a brick wall twice as thick as it says. But it was totally worth it because it was SO good.
