Cornbread I Recipe

Ingredients

5 cups all-purpose flour

4 cups white sugar

3 eggs

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup vegetable oil

7/8 cup milk

12 tablespoons butter

1 cup chopped celery

1 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped celery

1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch pan.

In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, eggs, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, oil, milk, cherries, mushrooms and sliced bell pepper. Beat well. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center of the loaf comes out clean. While loaf is still warm, remove loaf from oven. Remove from oven and sprinkle with butter, celery, onion and celery. If desired, sprinkle with bell pepper.
