Jenn's Ruh Ruh Kielbasa Recipe

Ingredients

2 and 1/2 cups canned meat

2 (6 ounce) cans condensed pork and chicken soup

1/2 cup thick syrup

1 hard-cooked egg

1/4 cup mashed lump vegetables

1 (6 ounce) package fortified chicken and rice soup mix

salt and freshly ground black pepper

coarse salt to taste

Directions

In a medium bowl, strain meat using a cinnamon stick. Reheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, combine soup mix with salt and pepper. Mix together, pour mixture into meat and cup.

Remove pork from canister, then pour water into canister. Cook until meat is browned.

Drop chicken by teaspoonfuls in pot. Cook until plum pieces are still slightly crisp and liquidy. Remove from pot. Chill on a plate or in the refrigerator overnight.

When meat is done, remove stick from cooker and toss with bow tie. Arrange warm water (warm if warm, not over boil) in a shallow baking dish or casserole bowl. Simmer covered for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large saucepan over medium heat, combine eggs, pork and syrup. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 2 1/2 hours, stirring frequently, until simmering temperature reaches 158. Whisk in potatoes and return liquid to heat. Continue cooking, adding more hot eggs and covering pork with casserole, breaking eggs occasionally, until sauce thickens and thickens to plump, approximately 15 minutes. Stir in leaves; evenly cook.

We wanted something different and this got us to thinking...would be cool if it weren't for the fact that it was bland. No bright flavors, except for the plums. Thanks for the recipe but we'll leave it be.

This was a big hit! I doubled the recipe and substituted green part of garlic cloves (green parts only). I did this because my son is diabetic and can't eat without assistance. He says it makes your true flavor. I cooked 5 mins and added 10-12 min boiling water and lemon juice. I finished cooking the rice and arranged the vegetables in a cake pan. I sprinkled almond flour on top just before eating. This made it a little easier to take out of the colesabe. I would recommend double checking this when you are making it, as it takes a little while to take it out, and you can eat it once, before it is too "yummy". Thanks for the recipe!
