2 cups rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 1/2 cups butter, softened
1 2/3 cups brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, chocolate chips, and butter, stirring just until combined. Stir in the remaining brown and white sugar, vanilla extract, and oats until made smooth.
Drop dough by rounded teaspoon onto an unprepared cookie sheet, 4 inches from the lightest heat source. Bake for 7 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool slightly before removing from the baking sheet.
