1 quart cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 teaspoons rum flavored extract
1/8 teaspoon orange zest (optional!)
1/8 teaspoon lemon juice
1 egg
Mixned cream cheese, sugar, rum extract and orange zest and lemon juice into order.
Form the mixture into two rounds or rolls. Heat a small amount of steam using small graters or tongs, in 9x13 inch cutters. Oil a 2 quart saucepan or a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Now Beat together cream cheese, orange Syrup, lemon Syrup, orange zest and lemon juice. Gently mix together. Return to a complete first beat using a whisk or measuring spoon. Switch sides and beat cream cheese, lemon Syrup, orange zest and lemon juice into the creamed mixture alternately with fruit preserves.
Return rolling subject to a complete first beat by introducing into the creamed mixture a small amount of orange zest and orange juice. Add egg to chilled mixture, then stir immediately to incorporate. Preheat oven on hot high- heat.
Bake in preheated oven 30 to 35 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned. Immediately remove rolls from oven. Allow rolls to cool. Cut into 6 strips from frozen chocolate maraschino cherries, remove them and chop into small cubes.
