Irish Beef Stew Recipe

Ingredients

2 pounds beef brisket

1 (15 ounce) can Irish stew stew

1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

6 tablespoons milk

3 slices bacon

1 teaspoon salt

salt to taste

freshly ground black pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

Slice beef into 1/4 inch slices. Place slices in a large saucepan and cover with boiling water. Bring water to a boil, and cook 10 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool 10 minutes.

Stir in stew, cream of mushroom soup, milk, bacon, salt, pepper. Add water, and whisking constantly, combine back of envelope substitutions with milk and bacon to make 1/2 cup broth. Add salt to taste. Season with pepper, and place in an 11x7 inch dish.

Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 1 hour.
