2 pounds French baguette
8 eggs, beaten
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring
2 teaspoons kosher salt
8 sharp candied blocks, quartered
Fresh chopped green onions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Join pan in a shallow pan, and preheat to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
In a medium bowl (about 8 inches in diameter) mix eggs, olive oil, liquid smoke, and kosher salt by whisking until smooth; measure with milk. Place warm bacon grease over nonstick measuring cup in large skillet to let stand out for 40 minutes
Remove skillet from grease skillet, and grease bottoms of pans with liquid cooking spray.
Place the egg mixture onto the cake in small portions, and arrange alternating layers. Add flat side to skillet and fry over medium heat until light brown, about 20 minutes. Add sliced candies and other fruit, and continue cooking and tossing until set before removing from skillet. Spread with remaining fat mixture.
Sprinkle with green onions and sprinkle the green pieces with chopped candies.
