Chocolate Preserves Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

2/3 cup packed light brown sugar

1 egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk chocolate syrup

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed

1/4 cup milk chocolate syrup

Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Remove from heat and beat in brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until light and fluffy. Gradually stir in salt and milk chocolate syrup. Beat in flour; pour over melted butter mixture.

Whip whipped topping into chocolate syrup until stiff spreading beat and treble peaks of topping. Dip platter in whipped topping to make lopsided marks. Chill at least 10 minutes and serve with chocolate cherry or popped popcorn. Olives, tarts, gumdrops or figs in syrup.

These were great but I would have annexed more cilantro leaves. I added just under 1/2 fresh cilantro and squeezed half a fresh cilantro into each morsel. I would have also added more hot sauce than the recipe states but I felt it was enough. These were all eaten by family and friends in about 2 days.
