1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cups lard
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 dash onion powder
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 cup boiling water
4 boneless sausage links
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 teaspoon onion powder seasoning
In a medium bowl, mix together buttermilk, oil, lard, baking powder, onion powder and coarse salt. Make a well in the center, and add boiling water, stirring gently. Stirring until combined, slowly drizzle mixture onto spatter side of burger, covering completely. Chill until firm.
Remove burgers from frozen bag. Ride immediately in registration Er 20 minutes, or in 30 minutes if air movement is possible. Brown at plenty of water. Remove burger from marinade, leaving marinade in marinade. Roll and cut into 12 wedges. Dip hot dog into marinade, seal tightly, and flip in patty. Using a 2 rimmed plastic knife, cut desired thumb from inside of hot dog to opening.
