3/4 cup butter, softened
3 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
pasteurized milk
3/4 cup dried apricots
2 cups golden raisins
Preheat oven to 275 degrees F (125 degrees C). Prepare a 9x13 inch dish with butter, brown sugar and eggs.
Stir butter, sugar, and vanilla in water (1 cup at a time) until butter is melted and the mixture is creamy. When no lumps remain, add the apricots and raisins, continuing to stir until a smooth paste forms.
Spread the warm butter mixture evenly onto the dried fruit, allowing some to drizzle onto the bottom of the baking dish.
Lightly oil the inner surface of the baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely. Chill just before serving cold.
